Meet Andrea Schneider
I am a big fan of dogs, especially my golden retriever, Ellie; people and their communities; creative ideas; beautiful things and my home city of Portland, Oregon. I started pdxdogfeeders.com in 2007 with the aim of developing and selling the best dog feeders on the planet. In 2007, I also launched pdxdog.com, an online social network and community resource, a site for people who love dogs to discover useful information and resources concerning their pups.
PDX is code for Portland International Airport and a nickname for the city coined by locals. In 2006, Dog Fancy magazine rated Portland one of the nation's "Best Cities for Dogs" based on the number of canine-friendly businesses and dog parks, among other factors. According to Dog Fancy, Portland is "one giant dog paradise." Ellie, our friends and I agree!
I owned and operated a small dog store in Portland's Pearl District from 2005 through 2007. In this role, I discovered a significant void in the dog product market. While I learned about a variety of available dog dishes, including quite a few raised feeders, nowhere could I find a feeder that I felt combined sufficiently form, function and a sense of caring for our dogs and the environment. With our Artisan Dog Feeders, my colleagues and I at pdxdogfeeders.com believe we have filled this void and developed the finest dog feeders on earth.
